Professional experience
5-8 years of progressive experience in structural analysis and design, with a focus on offshore or marine structures.
Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), structural modelling, and dynamic loading analysis.
Desired experience working on wind energy projects, preferably involving the design of support structures for offshore wind turbines.
Demonstrated track record of successful project deliveries in the marine environment.
Specific professional specialization relevant
Proficiency in structural engineering software tools, such as STAAD Pro, SACS, or ANSYS, for modelling and analysis.
Good technical knowledge of analysis software (FEMAP or SESAM) and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and MATLAB.
Must have good working awareness of codes and standards in FOW or similar industry.
Understanding of dynamic loading conditions and their effects on structural integrity, including fatigue analysis and mitigation strategies.
Knowledge of advanced materials and construction methods used in offshore structural engineering, with an emphasis on durability and reliability.

Activities/Functions
Lead structural analysis and design activities for Gazelle's support structures, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Develop detailed engineering designs and calculations for structural components, considering factors such as loading conditions, material properties, and fabrication constraints.
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and other advanced analytical studies to assess structural performance and identify areas for optimization.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and naval architecture, to integrate structural components into overall systems.
Review and evaluate engineering deliverables, including drawings, reports, and specifications, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed to address technical inquiries, resolve engineering issues, and facilitate project approvals.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in offshore structural engineering, contributing to the ongoing improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.
General conditions
Location:
Based in our Viana do Castelo office.
Minimum 3 days per week in the office, ideally 4-5 days.
Contract & Working Hours:
Permanent contract with an initial trial period.
40-hour work week.
22 days of vacation annually.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: €2,800 - €4,290 gross per month (based on experience), 14 salaries per year.
Food allowance: €9.60 per working day (approx. €200 net per month, paid 11 times per year).
